KOOL HERC FUNDRAISER AT SUTRA NYC 2/1/11
From: Amora Inc.
We caught wind of DJ Kool Herc’s current condition through outlets like DJ Premier’s blog, and AllHipHop.com, and wanted to make sure our audience was aware of this situation. Kool Herc, widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of hip hop music, is ill, having been in and out of the hospital, and requires costly surgery, facing financial difficulty making it difficult to acquire the care he needs.
Several outlets have written about and are discussing Kool Herc’s predicament, commenting on his particular issues, as well as the greater issues of the lack of health care options for musicians, as well as a lack of corporate support for pioneering hip hoppers, many of whom have helped make such corporations many millions of dollars over the years.
We’ll ask our readers to read and contribute their comments on those respective sites, as well as notify you about a fundraiser in the works scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 1 at Sutra in NYC (as per Davey D). Details to follow.
Donations are being collected as well, and can be sent to a mailing address or by PayPal, listed below. Details on the event will be posted as they solidify.
Please take some time to look into this issue, and if you are so inclined, donate. While this sort of thing happens to many “regular people” on a daily basis, and many of us are walking around with no insurance ourselves, there is no denying the impact that Kool Herc had on our lives as hip hoppers, and I’m sure that every penny counts.

From: AllHipHop
RadarOnline.com posted the outrageous lawsuit, which was filed by a woman named Valerie Joyce Wilson Turks, who accuses Diddy, his longtime girlfriend Kim Porter and LAPD victim Rodney King of being responsible for the collapse of the World Trade Center.
"[Diddy] went through Kim Porter and Rodney King and knocked down the WTC and then they all came and knocked my children down," Turks claims in the lawsuit. "Set me up to be on disability and disabled my baby. he put my baby in a wheelchair," the lawsuit reads.
The lawsuit also accuses Diddy, who raked in $30 million dollars in 2010, of stealing the woman's "chip" at a Casino in Mississippi.
“Plus I won a lot of money at the casino in Mississippi and Sean P. Diddy Combs has my chip to my money. I heard he gave it to Gwen Allen to hold but she can not cash it in," Turks complained. "I want my chip please help me. it's well worth over 100 zillions of dollars, and my hospital keys. They put me and my baby in the hospital and broke my baby 2 legs and sexual assaulted my children and crushed us."
The woman seeks $900 billion dollars in child support and $100 billion dollars for loss of income.
A hearing date has been set for Monday, January 31st.

New WorldStar Update: Back Up & Running, Shut Down Because Of Copyright Claim
UPDATE: 50 DIDNT SHUT DOWN WORLDSTAR! BUT YAHOO MIGHT HAVE!
From: Miss Info
Audio: 50 Cent talks to Angie Martinez, Hot97….about the current site problems of Worldstar Hip Hop, and admits that contrary to his twitter-boasts, he didn’t actually shut down WSHH. But he does explain the tension between him and Worldstar is caused by an ongoing lawsuit. Fif says WSHH used his likeness on their site banner without permission and he thinks they promote negativity….which he says he’s no longer a fan of.
UPDATE: Q the owner of Worldstar also called in to respond to 50 Cent, and told Angie that the site’s problem has nothing to do with 50 Cent, the ongoing lawsuit, or therecent ICE takedowns of blogs. It’s a problem with his server. (now according to others, the problem may be a “level-5 take down” by Yahoo. As in, a complaint fromsomeone to Yahoo about a copyright infringement that then resulted in a freeze. *shrug*) Either way, it should have been apparent that this was not the same as the previous ICE seizures, because going to WSHH did not redirect you to a sign from the Federal government.
(thanks to DJ Juanyto/Hot97 for the speedy audio)
Doing our research here at BYC Promo, we see that WorldStar has a lock on the webiste....
