Who Is Reefa? @reefaBURNone
REEFA BIO
Up and coming rapper Reefa was born in Houston, Texas, a very music rich city. It has produced some of
today’s top talents such as Bun B, Slim Thug, Paul Wall and Young Money’s Short Dawg. Today, Texas
unveils another star in the making, Reefa of Talk Loud Ent | New Wave Ent.
Reefa began rapping at a young age after he saw his brother, Richie Rich, begin a career in the mixtape
chop and screw scene. These unique mixtapes showcase a DJ’s acute ability to mix and “chop & screw”
songs to their liking with special effects. Soon, Richie Rich saw a high demand in his music and released a
total of seven mixtapes that were highly popular throughout Texas. It wasn’t before long Reefa decided that
he had to pick up the mic too.
“I just watched my brother do it and it inspired me,” Reefa said about his start in music.“Swisha House
inspired me as well. When I saw my brother start doing it, that’s when I got real interested,” he went on to
say.
Although a newcomer at the time to the rap scene, Reefa picked up the mic and attacked it like a pro. He
most certainly got everyone’s attention and it wasn’t before long when they all saw Reefa had a natural
talent for rapping. However, what made Reefa’s start in rap even more amazing was the fact he never
picked up a pen or paper. He shockingly just started rhyming off the top of his head. However, as Reefa
explained, freestyling is in the genes of Hustle Town rappers.
“Everybody in the H, that’s how they are gonna start out, by freestyling. It’s the way it is.”
Through his original approach and hustle lifestyle, he began making a name for himself in the underground
rap scene. In highschool Reefa started a group called Diamond District with his friend and fellow rapper
Gunna. Together, they began to carve out what would later become the basis for their record company Talk
Loud Ent.
After graduating and living in Houston for some time, Reefa eventually branched out to Dallas and Wichita
Falls, where he continued his musical exploits.
“I was born in Houston, started off in Dallas and Wichita Falls is where the goon squad came out,” the
rapper said. “All three places are very important to me.”
It was in these two areas that Reefa began to develop his identity that we see today and he quickly
developed a reputation as a rabid fire spitter. Not only was his flow smooth and silky, but it also possessed a
tenacious bite to it.
The rapper said about his spit fire flow, “I gotta specific name for it. I call it semi-automatic flow. I call it that
to describe the way I spit a quick set of bars. It’s the way I let my words rip off. I only use it when I feel the
time is right though.”
Now, with a steady business approach in mind, Reefa traveled back from Wichita Falls to Dallas to kick off
his music career where it started. Together with his high school friend Gunna, the two officially started Talk
Loud Ent. The label also consists of friend and director Dante Murray, owner of Kite Flight Films, as well as
his brother Richie Rich, who handles production on the records.
With his brand new single “Hater” swarming the airwaves, it is only a matter of time before Reefa is
nationally recognized. Perhaps his true life approach to music is what makes him so special.
As Reefa said, “As years go by, I only speak on what I see or what I got goin on. I don’t bite off anybody
else’s swag,” Reefa stated. “I don’t speak upon somebody’s else’s life. I got too many interesting things
about to pop off in my life. I just stick to what I know, I don’t needa speak about someone else.”
Expect a lot more from this young MC, as he is gearing up to drop his debut album entitled “The Takeover,
Otherwise the Fallout”. Also expect a video for the smash hit “Haters” which will be directed by Dante
Murray. With his recent signing and the merger of Talk Loud Ent with the independent label New Wave Ent,
it is only a matter of time until Reefa is burnin up airwaves near you.

MY JOURNEY TO SUCCESS...
Omar’s collection of emotionally charged and soulful tunes is a wonderful introduction to a singer inspired by the ebbs and flows of life and family. His songs, including "Mr. Survival" and many others, tackle a broader spectrum of social issues, often excluded from contemporary R&B. His preference to comment on life experience makes it no surprise when Omar cites Tupac, Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, and all soulful singers, as major influences. Perhaps, he can credit some of his artistic sensibilities to his roots as his father was in a band called the Soul Messengers.
However, Omar prefers to utilize the self-invented term “B&R," a term meant to differentiate his often-gritty lyrics from those of other R&B singers. Omar recalls when he was only six years old, the powerful and spiritual impact of his soulful voice as it was evident to his audience at Calvary Baptist Church, in his hometown of Norwalk, CT. “When I sang solo gospel numbers, I would see the adults in the audience crying, just brought to tears and I didn’t understand what was happening or how my voice was having this effect on people.” The remarkable evolution from a vocally gifted boy into a richly diverse singer-songwriter and arranger is the blueprint of Omar’s ongoing musical journey.
At seventeen, following a troubled period in high school, Omar moved to Durham, North Carolina, where he was encouraged to rap and with his three cousins, and joined a group called the Lost Souls. While working with producer Mike City (ie. Brandy, Usher), the group generated two albums, “Soul Talk” and “Life Is Life”, distributed by Ichiban Entertainment. It was during this transition that Omar the songwriter was beginning to flourish, writing hooks and harmonies that revealed an entirely different style. “I was getting a stronger response from my singing rather than my rap which led me to concentrate on my rhythm & blues and soul sounds. I love rap because it taught me how to outline an idea of a song which I was able to use as I started to write and sing."
Audiences are continually ‘wowed’ by the performer, re-affirming the emotional reaction he received as a child during church performances. In fact, Omar has captivated audiences and has wowed his way to three time Apollo winner since 2007 and maintained his victory upon becoming Best R&B Male of the Year for both 2008 and 2009 at the Underground Music Awards held at BB Kings in NYC. In addition to his repertoire of awards, Omar released his 1st record nationally "Get to Know You Better" featuring platinum recording artist Angie Stone. Also in the summer of 2011, Omar plans to release a second mixtape entitled "The Product". He will then release a second single entitled "Faith," featuring renowned rapper/actor, DMX in the near future.
Most recently, Omar performed the National Anthem at Mohegan Sun Casino during the live broadcast of a TKO boxing event. Reflecting on his growing career It is apparent that Omar will continue to amaze the world with his talent.

What’s up Vagabonds? If you’ve been following along with us the past couple of weeks, you can see that E.R. and Baysiqly are gonna make this a HOT summer with all the shows they’ve been doing and the material that has been getting released lately.
Not missing a step after the release of E.R.‘s “My City” freestyle, the other half of the Vagabonds is here with the first single off his anticipated “Leonidas” album, simply titled: “Greatness“. The first leak off the 11 track project produced by Kahlil The WizKid, Baysiqly‘s “coming up from nothing” testimonial is a little different from what you hear from most pollyannaish up and comers, but it still feels downright inspirational.
“When i think about my mother that’s my cue to go harder/She lived life rugged tryna have her lookin’ sharper…”
is just one of the many lines showcasing Baysiqly‘s hunger and dedication on this single, setting up the overall theme for “Leonidas” as his battle cry to take over the rap game with the entire Vagabonds movement.
With a video also coming in the upcoming weeks, “Leonidas” will definitely be an anthem for anybody accomplishing their goals in 2012. And for an added bonus, peep the bottom of the post to see Baysiqly talking about the entire “Leonidas” project, and what you can expect from the VMG boys for the rest of this year.

Ardell “Duttch Mastah” Blake was brutally gunned downed in his home survived by his
four children and family. Oath Of PEACE is an independent movement that promotes
non violence and anti-bullying. Bullying is a growing epidemic that has no longer been
dismissed as trivial. A new review of studies from 13 countries by the Yale School of
Medicine found signs of a connection between bullying, being bullied, and suicide. And
violence is no stranger to communities all over the country.
