Cincinnati Mother 'Speaking To Demons' Charged With Beheading Her Infant; Prosecutors Say

CINCINNATI (WCPO) -- An Ohio mother was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly beheading her 3-month-old baby.

Police responded to a home near Cincinnati Monday when they found the baby girl dead inside, according to WCPO.

WCPO reports 20-year-old Deasia Watkins was"speaking with demons," according to documents.

When officers arrived, Watkins was high on marijuana and "speaking in tongues," according to a police report.

Officers said they had to forcefully remove the infant from her arms because she refused to let go.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said Tuesday that the baby's body was found on the kitchen counter by a 5-year-old relative, WCPO said.

The coroner's office said the 3-month-old suffered "multiple stab wounds to the right side of the (baby's) face and head," Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said. "(The baby had) a fractured right arm, and the head was severed from the body," Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said.

The knife used on the baby was found placed in the dead baby's hand, Prosecutor said.

Sammarco said "decapitation" will most likely be included in that report.

Watkins was reportedly mentally ill and had lost custody of the child once before, according to WKRC.

Documents WCPO revealed the mother was suffering from post-partum psychosis.

The 20-year-old mother is charged with aggravated murder.
