With his best foot forward and his head high, R3 (Reality through Rap and R&B) born Jose Santiago, has been shining in the shade in the underground music industry for quite some time now. Standing amongst the elite in the upcoming, he's one step closer to super stardom.
"There's so much competition out there and everyone is hungry...If I decide to take a day off that only allows my competition a full day to take a step ahead of me. It's a dream millions are chasing..." he says in reference to his work ethic. He's planning to release a mixtape entitled "Finally" later on this year. The name says it all as this will be R3's first independent project released to the public filled with melodic raps and smooth crooning with energy and hunger that can't go unfelt or unheard.
If R3 isn't in the studio laying down his smooth melodic vocals, or tickling the ivory keys, he's zoned into his iphone listening to instrumentals and constantly writing. R3 leans toward writing music as a form of therapy.

But here in his own city, R3 has shown and proved he's worthy, taking first place in showcase competitions in venues such as The Bowery Poetry Club, Karma Lounge, Pyramid Lounge, and Sofa Lounge, and putting on electrifying performances at big events such as 105.3 Party FM's PowerJam and Hot 97's Funk Master Flex Car Show. R3 was nominated and voted in The Elegant Hoodness Music Program's Artist of the Year Awards and fell in the top 5 of NYC's underground artists. "He becomes a different person on stage. You can feel his energy when he's performing. He's dope!" says a fan.
R3's been the focus of quite a few magazine spreads, Get Signed Magazine and Royalty Magazine, just to name a couple and is a sponsored model for the urban clothing line 10 Deep Co. Also, to chalk up another mark on his resume, he recently starred in a reality TV show called "La Vie D'Aujoud Hui" (The Life of Today) airing in France.
