Gritty

Courageously persistent; having strong qualities of tough uncompromising realism. Gritty Traxx is symbolic to motivation! He's thought provoking and unwavering in his honesty. This is a guy that lived in the warehouse of a former employer in order to stay close to and provide for his son. That's the DEFINITION OF GRITTY! Things have changed for the better since then. He's not afraid to let you into his thought process. This is hip hop. At an early age it became apparent that music was his "Thing". While other kids knew about the latest comics Devon (p.k.a Gritty Traxx) knew about the new George Duke album. His upbringing was stabilized by a strong mother. Growing up where he did,in The Bronx (Boston Road), he was exposed to a lot of things; some good; most often not. While in Junior High School, he embarked on his first musical journey by joining the school band where he played and excelled with the Baritone Horn. He was part of a local rap group The Hoodz Of Miz B'havya and released "How You Look". It was through this same experience he became privileged to make acquaintances with Main Sources' Large Professor who quickly took the quiet kid under his wing and taught him the makings of a beat. Gritty was part of another group called DNA. This group released underground bangers such as: "Bronx Criminal County", 2 Ounces And A Dream". Gritty's credits to date include production on D.I.T.C. member A.G.'s first solo album "The Dirty Version" released on SilvaDom Recordings in 1999, a Dante Zeller Tuxedo commercial 2003-2004, the winning song's track on a DJ Green Lantern mixtape contest 2006.Today, he vehemently continues to cultivate his craft and has is on the way to making the soundtrack to many lives. Be sure that you will see the STAMP...GRITTY TRAXX on some big projects in the very near future.
