Get To Know Young Play

Brandon Tyler Love, age 14, was born in Compton,CA and grew up Rialto CA. The 3rd of 4 children, to the proud parents of Marie Love and Paul Johnson, still currently resides in the city of Rialto, CA with his mom, little brother, and grandparents. In the fall Brandon will begin attending Carter High School. In his spare time he likes spending time with my family and friends. People view Brandon as being outgoing and a go-getter. Hobbies are: writing rap music, swimming, and shopping. "The entertainment business has always caught my eye as young child, I always knew I wanted to either sing or act". Love would always go on the internet and sign himself up for an audition or some type of screening for acting. His mom would always get the call and would never schedule the appointment. The music industry was the most interesting and inspiring side of entertainment. "I knew if I ever pursued a music career I could be more involved because I could write my own music". He began writing raps at the age of 5 years old with his step-father, who is currently deceased. Being a rap artist was a dream of his. "I promised when I lost my dad in 2004 I would carry on his dream in a very positive way and obtain my education, something else I knew that would make him happy". "Witnessing my stepfathers death was very traumatic for me but becoming rebellious I knew it was something he wouldn't want me to put my mother through. I learned to cope with this loss by continuing with his destiny he had never reached" says Brandon. The continuation of writing rap help him to express and connect with what he was feeling and overcoming.... the loss of his dad. "Writing kept me connected to him spiritually it always made me feel as if he had never left and was still right by my side. I love you Charles Ray McNair aka Spade RIP I miss you dad".
YoungPlay is the  Rap name I thought of. Initially, I motivated myself. Writing non-stop even when the time permitted me not to . Brandon would just put down what he had and then collaborate it together through texting on his cell phone. "When I came together with LP and wrote, coordinated, and arranged Jerking is A Habit, I kept in mind how we wanted our style of music to consist of. The style of our role models and favorite rap artists of the rap industry such as T-Pain, Kanye West, Jay Z which would also set the tone and environment of our writing". "We went to a friends in home studio and recorded the song says Young Play". The song was passed around due to their positive feedback and they were feeling themselves. "We then put our song on our local radio station 99.1 KGGI website for unsigned artists to be accessed by other artists, individuals, etc. Not to mention we also created a page for our entourage on MySpace". Taking it all a step further they decided to start asking different people could they perform their song and his solo at different functions. "My perfect opportunity was the grand re-opening of our local skating rink. The manager heard our song and gave me a shot at performing. Taking the mic and doing what I had to do was not a problem". "After performing our song and me doing my solo YP I was feeling quite famous. From this point forward I have no doubt that I can accomplish my goal. My current status is getting educated, staying positive, continuing writing and working toward being noticed in a positive manner. Theres more to come and we definitely will keep each and everyone posted" says Young Play.
