Djone Rosaria a.k.a. Mook began his journey into the rap game 2005. Originally born in Boston, Massachusetts; Mook moved to Huntsville, AL. at age 6. Since then he has composed numerous songs and performed all over the country. Mook has worked with a wide range of producers; including Athens, AL. ownKen P. / Trunkbangaz. Ken was so impressed with Mook’s raw, hardcore, gangster delivery that he introduced his music to Kyle Jennings of Atteze Mgt. & Artillery South Ent. C.E.O., Cain. Today, Mook is one of the most featured and talked about artist on the ASE roster. Super platinum producer, Zaytoven; who’s produced hits for Gucci Mane, Usher, Rocko, & Future; quickly became attached to Mook after he was introduced to him by Cain. As Zay put it “I was blown away by Mook’s ability to come up with melodies and hooks so fast. I haven’t worked with anyone like him since Gucci Mane“. Zaytoven invited Mook back to the lab and they came up with Mook’s biggest song to date “Benz Coupe” ft. Gucci Mane on the remix. Since that encounter; Mook and Zaytoven have collabed with other artist like Tracy T, Project Pat, and Rocko.
Some of Mookie’s influences include Tupac Shakur, T.I., Outkast, and All Street Figgas worldwide. Mook describes his music as “Go Get It Music”. Mook considers himself as a much needed asset to the unmotivated. Mookie explains, “The rap industry needs me. My music makes you want to get up, get out, and get something”.
With the changing state of the music business; Mook realizes the importance of supporting his family and staying true to himself. “Music is the avenue that God blessed me with to take care of my family and if I wasn’t doing this I would be doing the things I rap about“. Mook says that he will never go Hollywood either because in his words, “I have loyalty and I’m well respected around my way”.
