Get To Know Young Play

Brandon Tyler Love, age 14, was born in Compton,CA and grew up Rialto CA. The 3rd of 4 children, to the proud parents of Marie Love and Paul Johnson, still currently resides in the city of Rialto, CA with his mom, little brother, and grandparents. In the fall Brandon will begin attending Carter High School. In his spare time he likes spending time with my family and friends. People view Brandon as being outgoing and a go-getter. Hobbies are: writing rap music, swimming, and shopping. "The entertainment business has always caught my eye as young child, I always knew I wanted to either sing or act". Love would always go on the internet and sign himself up for an audition or some type of screening for acting. His mom would always get the call and would never schedule the appointment. The music industry was the most interesting and inspiring side of entertainment. "I knew if I ever pursued a music career I could be more involved because I could write my own music". He began writing raps at the age of 5 years old with his step-father, who is currently deceased. Being a rap artist was a dream of his. "I promised when I lost my dad in 2004 I would carry on his dream in a very positive way and obtain my education, something else I knew that would make him happy". "Witnessing my stepfathers death was very traumatic for me but becoming rebellious I knew it was something he wouldn't want me to put my mother through. I learned to cope with this loss by continuing with his destiny he had never reached" says Brandon. The continuation of writing rap help him to express and connect with what he was feeling and overcoming.... the loss of his dad. "Writing kept me connected to him spiritually it always made me feel as if he had never left and was still right by my side. I love you Charles Ray McNair aka Spade RIP I miss you dad".
YoungPlay is the  Rap name I thought of. Initially, I motivated myself. Writing non-stop even when the time permitted me not to . Brandon would just put down what he had and then collaborate it together through texting on his cell phone. "When I came together with LP and wrote, coordinated, and arranged Jerking is A Habit, I kept in mind how we wanted our style of music to consist of. The style of our role models and favorite rap artists of the rap industry such as T-Pain, Kanye West, Jay Z which would also set the tone and environment of our writing". "We went to a friends in home studio and recorded the song says Young Play". The song was passed around due to their positive feedback and they were feeling themselves. "We then put our song on our local radio station 99.1 KGGI website for unsigned artists to be accessed by other artists, individuals, etc. Not to mention we also created a page for our entourage on MySpace". Taking it all a step further they decided to start asking different people could they perform their song and his solo at different functions. "My perfect opportunity was the grand re-opening of our local skating rink. The manager heard our song and gave me a shot at performing. Taking the mic and doing what I had to do was not a problem". "After performing our song and me doing my solo YP I was feeling quite famous. From this point forward I have no doubt that I can accomplish my goal. My current status is getting educated, staying positive, continuing writing and working toward being noticed in a positive manner. Theres more to come and we definitely will keep each and everyone posted" says Young Play.

Meet Ronald "SHAQ" Hayes & Devon "MILLIONZ" Mack Co-Owner & C.E.O of @ChaunCityTV & ChaunCity Music Group

CO Owner Of ChaunCityTV.
ChaunCityMusicGroup
Brooklyn Music Director

RONALD “SHAQ” HAYES

As co-owner of ChaunCityTV, a media outlet showcasing up and coming hip hop and R&B artists interviews and videos; Ron “Shaq” Hayes is rolling the camera on the creative capacity both on his Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn block and throughout New York City.

In 2004, growing tired of reaching out to other media outlets to acknowledge the talent within their neighborhood; Hayes partnered with lifelong neighborhood friend Devon “Millionz” Mack and together the two founded ChaunCityTV.

Inspired by watching music videos and attending a Spike Lee basketball camp, Hayes knew early on that directing was what he wanted to do. Returning to New York in 2001 after playing professional basketball abroad in Greece for a year; Hayes landed a position as a facilities coordinator for Warner Music Group, primarily assisting Atlantic and Bad Boy Records. Shortly after being hired Hayes’ desire for directing resurfaced and he began training in the visual art form of directing.

Directing for the last five years, Hayes portfolio contains a plethora of artist interviews, music videos and community events. Recently, Hayes has called the shots behind-the-camera for Full Assault Records, WorldWide and Da Specialist, This is for the Ladies music video in 2008, RealTalk DVD owner Arliss Micheals interview for RealTalk DVD released summer 2009, and ChaunCity MusicGroup’s own Billionz Respect My Freestyle video in 2010.

Working alongside record label ChaunCity MusicGroup, both companies are fully creating and supervising their artists’ images. The company now expands and serves as a media outlet for an array of artist interviews, videos, blogs and WebPages.

ChaunCityTV is currently available in the New York City metro area on CableVision, channels 67, 68 and 69.

Chauncity Music Group LLC
Ceo/Music Producer

DEVON “MILLIONZ” MACK

A musician and producer with a fond respect for music Devon “Millionz” Mack is co-owner for Brooklyn-based media outlet ChaunCityTV and record label ChaunCity MusicGroup.

Splitting the company’s responsibilities with lifelong friend and business partner Ron “Shaq” Hayes, Mack takes the lead in overseeing ChaunCity MusicGroup. Named after his Chauncey Street block, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn; Mack suggests, “Within our block, we’re our own little city…containing a lot of untapped talent, and ChaunCity, will be that platform to showcase that talent.”

Establishing ChaunCity MusicGroup in 2008, after a few failed attempts of his own as a rapper; Mack realized he was more beneficial composing beats for neighborhood rappers rather than taking them on lyrically.

Drawn to melodies and chord changes within music because of his jazz background, Mack doesn’t try to package and sell his sound to just one specific genre of music.

Driving Mack’s skill as a producer is his success as a bass-guitarist. Initially wanting to be a drummer but unable to afford the sticks in junior high, Mack quickly switched to the bass guitar. Learning the bass guitar instantly, when he entered high school Mack joined the jazz band and studied the structure of music and was trained to read and play sheet music.

Since founding ChaunCity MusicGroup, Mack has produced tracks for artists Billionz “Run 2” off his 2007 Incredibillz mixtape; Tone Waynes, “Life in da City” from his Life in da City mixtape released in 2008, and “Fly” by Niv featuring E. Brown appearing on Da Who, Whut, When and Why Vol. 1 mixtape released in early 2010.

Up next for ChaunCity MusicGroup in conjunction with ChaunCityTV is short documentary film Billie BadAss. The documentary outlines ChaunCity MusicGroup artist Billionz and his chronicle, transitioning from the streets to the hip hop industry. The short documentary is scheduled for a 2010 release on BCAT in New York City.

All ChaunCity MusicGroup music can be heard and downloaded at www.chauncitytvnyc.com.

R.I.P DJ MEGATRON

"Gone But Never Forgotten"

Story from Daily News:

Family members, friends and fans are mourning the murder of DJ Megatron, who was gunned down early Sunday morning on the streets of Staten Island.
The rising TV and radio star, whose given name was Corey McGriff, was shot in Clifton at about 2 a.m. and pronounced dead on the scene a short time later, police said.
The Staten Island resident had just moved to a new house and his girlfriend recently gave birth to his third child.
"Everybody is shocked," said a close friend who asked not be identified. "He just had a new baby. He wasn't feuding with anybody. Everybody liked him."
His buddy said it was normal for Megatron to get back to Staten Island around 2 or 3 in the morning after working at a club or music event.
"I'm still shocked that somebody killed him," he said. "I can't even understand why. It could be somebody that he didn't even know. At that time of the night people do all kinds of crazy things."
"I can't see it being a personal thing because I don't know of anybody who had a personal issue with him," he added. "But at the same time, when you start getting success you have people who don't necessarily like that."
A police source said detectives have thus far not been able to track down an eyewitness to the murder.
Keith Robinson, who identified himself as Megatron's father-in-law, said his family was distraught.
"He was a good person," Robinson said, visibly upset, "Everyone's just shocked."
The Staten Island performer was a regular on BET's "106th and Park," and worked on HOT 97 two years ago.
A friend who arrived at the scene at about 4 a.m. said she talked to him a few hours earlier.
"He just called me," Lisa Torres said, "He asked me if I was going to [a friend's] party."
She became inconsolable as the news sank in.
"He's right there on the ground. I can't believe this," she screamed as she broke down in tears. "You're lying, you're lying! That's not Megatron right there!"

Who Is Nempho Da Professional?

Biography Of Nempho Da Professional
I was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. I attended Hamilton Disston Elementary and graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school in 1996. In 2000 I started writting and recording my own music. I've been in love with music since I can remember. From the Temptations to Jay-Z. The first song I ever recorded was Dreams and hearing myself for the first time really sparked my obsession to record my own music. During my growth with writting and recording I've learned a lot. Since then I've recorded around 30(thirty) songs of all different topics and messages. I've done two shows in Philadelphia and four shows here in North Carolina. In 2006 I lost my fiance my first born son's mother to Sickle Cell Anemia which sparked one of the best songs I've written (Where Did You Go) which won second place in the VH-1 song of the Year contest March of 2009(www.songoftheyear.com) Hip-Hop category. I have a myspace music page where you can see live performances in studio recording and my performance at the Rock Shop Renaissance as well as 10 featured songs with over 14,000 play and counting. I am recording at Third Rail Studio's under our producer Anthony Cone. In the next month we are prepareing to shoot my first music video for the song Touched On which we're all very excited to do. Outside of myself we have Keith(singer) Richelle(singer) and our newest addition A-1. I am very much surrounded by very talented friends who supports me to the fullest and I am very thankful to be apart of. I feel I am very marketable with the right promotion. Keeping the music fun, real and respectable.
